1923-1974

John Bryant Ellis was born in Texas in 1923 and died 1974 in TN. He attended Southern Methodist University before World War II. After the war, he began painting in the modernist/abstract style and soon began experimenting in the Surrealist style having been influenced by the work of Salvadore Dali. Most of his works are small and whimsical in nature.
