BiographyLajos Koloszvary was born in Budapest and trained at the Vienna Academy under the tutelage of prominent Austrian portrait painters Christian Ludwig Griepenkerl and August Eisenmenger. From 1891 he stayed in Budapest, where he was popular for his humorous genre scenes, often with figures in interiors. The permanent collection of the Landesmuseum in Münster, Germany, exhibits several of his works.
