BiographyRuth (Emerson) Van Cleve studied painting at the Art Students League of New York and produced mostly smaller-scale oils and watercolors throughout her career. She is known for her nude figure paintings. Ruth also created original concept art for the children's psychiatric ward at Bellevue Hospital in New York City around 1940.
