BiographyDurden was born in Manchester where he studied at the School of Art before moving on to the Royal College of Art, London. He gained a silver medal at the Paris Salon in 1927, and exhibited throughout South Africa, New Zealand and Australia, and several overseas galleries hold his work (see D. Buckman, The Dictionary of Artists in Britain since 1945, Bristol, 1998, p. 379).
